Full Circle
In the fall of 2020, the Clemson University Men's Track & Field program was at risk of being cut, along with all the academic and developmental opportunities it provided. But, thanks to the activism of an inspiring group of current athletes and alumni, the men's program was successfully saved from elimination.
Led by Russell Dinkins, Executive Director of the Tracksmith Foundation, this group of grassroots activists led a protest on campus grounds, sending a reverberating message to universities around the country that the opportunities provided by this sport are worth protecting.
In January, I was asked to document the reunion of the athletes & alumni of the Clemson track & field team at one of their biggest home meets of the year. The project was impactful for me personally, as this as my time spent on the track has quite literally shaped me into the man I am today.
